Sunday morning thoughts

Sunday means something different for everyone. The first feelings of a Sunday come from our childhood memories. Coming from an eastern European family, Sunday to me means church in the morning, chicken soup and chicken or some meat dish with mashed potatoes and desert!!:-) Yeah, you get desert on Sunday and then doing nothing all day that's considered work.
As you grow up and try to live, especially in our westernized society, Sunday seems to be just one of those days. I mean, you know it's Sunday, but you still have to work around the house, and the thought that tomorrow is Monday, just can't stop hunting you.

Having this introduction what I wanted to share is the thought of raising kids in our society where Sunday is just a regular day, but trying to make it feel like our Sundays when we were kids. Maybe it's because our feelings of those childhood Sundays are so comforting or because it just seems right to send our kids to church on Sundays.

Personally, I made a decision to try to create a "real" Sunday for my family, when I'll have one, because it just seems good to have a day of the week that's special. We need special days, and we need nice treats so we can feel special, and happy and to feel that we belong. We belong to this family, the church community or just to our geographical community, meaning neighbors and fellow Victorians.

I am starting my family here, with my partner, who I love dearly, and I should rephrase my statement to starting OUR family, with our values and our special days.
