The family

Our family, here in Victoria is big. I love big families. You are never bored, something is always happening and you don't' have time to think too much so you'll never go in depression:-)

I am not using real names to protect everybody's privacy as this blog is on the internet, available to everyone. And I am using this blog for writing my thoughts out of me and not for any other purpose.

The most important thing about our family is LOVE. This is the most important thing in my belief and you can go from there. Later, if you'll read my blog, you'll understand why is love so important in our lives.

There my close family, which for now is Mike and me. We have a deep connection that could be called love if we want to be simple, but it's more then that.
Mike asks me often: "Why do you love me?" I always answer that one day I am going to collect all the things that give me the reason to love him because there is so many of them. I will one day dedicate a whole section for that.
Maybe you have this question pounding in your head now: " Is this guy perfect?!" Nobody is perfect and this is true for everyone, but Mike has a lot of good quantities that makes me love him, with his imperfections.

Mike has a sister, Alyda, who has given room for us in her house and her life for us. It is so great to meet your partner's family and have that instant connection. That's what we have with Mike's family. We have those jokes about in laws and our colleagues at work always talk about how they don't want to be with their in laws or even talking to them is painful, we don't have that and I am thankful for that.
Alyda has been a foster parent for the last ten years and has made miracles with a lot of kids. Mike has met these children and he considers them family, which they are.
Everybody who works with children who have been through traumas, abuse and neglect says that we all can learn from these children. These children that Alyda had fostered and is currently fostering are heroes and we all love them dearly.
The house is always full and laud, which I love; however sometimes it can be too much and you are forced to re assess your patience level:-)

Alyda has a fiance, Adam, who is a very unique person. He has a big heart and he is a good person, and when someone has these qualities the imperfections seem easier to deal with....

Alyda has two adopted children, Ryan, 12 and Barbara, 11. They are siblings and like all the kids in the home they are considered our "own" children.

There is one teen aged boy here for now, Jerry, 16.

And there is a little girl, Karla, 4 years old, who is Alyda's grand daughter, who is the daughter of a 24 years old girl Alyda fostered when she was a child.

Where do WE fit in here?;-) We are the aunt and uncle and what can I say, with all the challenges of being an aunt and uncle we are loving it. And you will see the challenges later as I vent about them:-))
